Position Details

Kearsley Community Schools is seeking a highly qualified Elementary STEM Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. This position is available for the 2026-2027 academic year, with an anticipated start date the week of August 10.

This position supports the district’s commitment to building a cohesive K-12 STEM system through engaging, hands-on learning experiences grounded in problem-, project-, and place-based (3P) instruction.

The Elementary STEM Teacher will play a critical role in expanding access to high-quality, interdisciplinary STEM learning that fosters curiosity, collaboration, and real-world problem solving.

The District

Kearsley Community Schools serves approximately 2,800 students across four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Highlights include:

The district employs approximately 175 certified educators, most of whom hold advanced degrees.

Voters recently approved a $21,680,000 bond to support new and enhanced learning environments, districtwide improvements, and safety upgrades. Key projects include:

  • A new community recreation facility with a 1,500-seat competitive gym, indoor track, and training spaces
  • Enhanced STEM and Robotics spaces and flexible classroom designs
  • Secure, redesigned entrances for all three elementary schools

The Opportunity

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the following endorsements:

  • Integrated Science (DI – Elementary)
  • Mathematics (EX – Elementary)
  • Science (DX)

Candidates must also be able to meet the demands of the below listed bullet points:

  • Design and deliver standards-aligned STEM instruction for elementary students, integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with literacy and real-world application
  • Facilitate hands-on, inquiry-driven learning experiences that promote problem solving, critical thinking, and student discourse
  • Implement problem-, project-, and place-based (3P) learning experiences that connect classroom learning to authentic contexts
  • Utilize a variety of tools and technologies (e.g., coding platforms, robotics kits, design materials) to enhance student learning
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and support equitable access to STEM experiences
  • Monitor student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support growth
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and building leaders to align STEM learning with core instruction and district initiatives
  • Participate in professional learning and contribute to the development of a cohesive K-12 STEM pathway
  • Support a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes curiosity, creativity, and belonging
  • Serve as a leader in promoting STEM engagement and innovation within the school community

Duties and Responsibilities

This position reports to the Building Principal .
