Job Description:

As an ELV (Extra Low Voltage) Estimation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the planning and execution of projects that involve systems such as security, communication, audio-visual, and other low voltage systems. Your expertise will be essential to accurately estimate project costs, ensure compliance with industry standards, and contribute to successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for ELV systems including materials, labor, and overheads.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and scope of work to determine project requirements and costs.
  • Bid Preparation:
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop comprehensive proposals and bids for ELV projects.
  • Review tender documents and provide suggestions for improving competitiveness.
  • Technical Support:
  • Support the engineering team in selecting appropriate systems and solutions based on client needs and project specifications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and technological advancements relevant to ELV systems.
  • Project Coordination:
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and product information.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain organized records of all estimation documents, including calculations, quotes, and correspondence with suppliers.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal use and client discussions.
  • Risk Analysis:
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate design modifications to assess cost implications and feasibility.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers, designers, and installation teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to clarify requirements and provide updates on estimation progress.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in ELV systems estimation and project management.
  • Strong understanding of ELV systems, including CCTV, access control, fire alarm, intercom, and structured cabling systems.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with local regulations and standards related to ELV installations.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Certification in estimation or relevant fields is a plus.

Work Environment:

This position may require occasional site visits to assess project requirements and monitor installations. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
