Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced ELV Technician to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, attending breakdowns, and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and rectifying faults across a wide range of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems. This role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on expertise, and the ability to respond efficiently to emergency service calls.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Preventive Maintenance (PPM) activities in accordance with approved schedules and maintenance plans.
- Attend to breakdown and emergency calls for ELV systems and ensure timely rectification.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair faults in the following systems:
- CCTV Systems (IP cameras, NVRs, VMS platforms)
- Access Control Systems (controllers, readers, magnetic locks, door strikes)
- Intercom Systems (audio and video)
- Public Address (PA) Systems
- Gate Barriers, Boom Barriers, Bollards, and Automatic Doors
- Audio-Visual (AV) Systems
- Structured Cabling Systems (Cat6, fiber, patch panels, terminations)
- Carry out installation, testing, commissioning, and configuration of ELV systems when required.
- Provide basic support for network switching and routing for IP-based ELV systems.
- Identify root causes of system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare service reports, maintenance logs, and incident documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and clients to resolve technical issues efficiently.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Electronics, Electrical, or ELV Systems.
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in ELV systems maintenance and troubleshooting (preferably in facilities management, construction, or contracting companies).
- Strong working knowledge of:
- IP-based CCTV systems and VMS
- Access control and intercom systems
- PA, AV, and structured cabling
- Automatic gates, barriers, and door systems
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, switches, routers, VLAN concepts).
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and system layouts.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Physically fit to work on-site and respond to emergency calls when required.
- Valid Qatar driving license is an added advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with leading ELV brands and platforms.
- Knowledge of fiber optic termination and testing.
- Familiarity with FM service environments and PPM reporting systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
