Plans and administers the implementation of the statewide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Trauma system improvement program. Is responsible for working with and developing the state Regional Time Sensitive Emergency Advisory Councils. Works to coordinate efforts with the designated centers/agencies and the data/performance improvement workgroups to include other sections and state agencies. Also works with EMS for Children Coordinator for specific program needs. Will also assist with facility designation and compliance visits. Will serve as the assistant to the Training and Data Management Coordinator and support additional data functions as needed.

Develops, implements, and monitors plans and protocols for statewide system improvement to include EMS, Trauma, Stroke, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI), and Sepsis. Prepare Guidelines and recommendations to identify registry audit filters and implement system improvement. Work with Training & Data Management Coordinator to ensure maintenance of all systems as well as reports and all applicable forms. Develop a strategy to include EMS, non-designated facilities, designated facilities, and rehabilitation centers in the statewide Process Improvement (PI) process. Assist in site visits and compliance. Will also review corrective action plans as related to these functions as they pertain to data and systems. Assist in the supervision and management of the certifications process and staff to ensure timely processing of all EMS certifications. Research resources, assess needs, and communicate feedback to the Training & Data Management Coordinator and associated groups. Actively participate in all required meetings and subcommittee meetings. Respond and staff the Emergency Operations Center.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements: Must have knowledge and abilities related to stroke. At least two (2) years supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support or Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, Advanced Stroke Life Support, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support or equivalent.

DRIVING RECORD: If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
