Job Summary : The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for providing immediate medical care and life-support to patients in emergency situations, both within hospital premises and during ambulance transport between facilities. The EMT ensures rapid response, patient stabilization, safe transfer, and effective coordination with medical teams across multiple hospital locations.

Key Responsibility:

1. Provide immediate on-scene and en-route medical assessment and care to patients at general medical emergencies.

2. Take and monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, and provide basic life support including CPR.

3. Assist medical staff in minor surgical or emergency procedures as needed.

4. Ensure availability and proper functioning of emergency medical supplies and equipment.

5. Safely transport patients between hospital facilities and from accident sites.

6. Maintain accurate and confidential medical records of emergency care provided.

7. Participate in hospital safety protocols, hygiene practices, and health promotion activities.

8. Collaborate with healthcare teams, including nurses, doctors, and paramedics, to ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualification:

· Bachelor's degrees like B.Sc. Emergency Medical Technology. Candidates must complete a recognized EMT course.

· Knowledge in BLS is Mandatory.

. Knowledge in ECHO, TMT, Emergency.

Experience:

1. Overall: 2 Years of hands-on emergency care in hospital or ambulance.

2. Relevant: 6months to 1 years of managing emergency medical situations such as trauma care, vital signs monitoring, basic life support, and patient transport.

3. Age: 21-23 Years.

Soft Skills:

1. Communication: Strong communication skills to accurately relay patient status and collaborate with medical teams, patients, and families effectively.

2. Problem-Solving: Analytical and problem-solving abilities for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

3. Empathy & Compassion: Compassion and empathy towards patients, maintaining patient dignity and emotional support during emergencies.

4. Calmness and quick decision-making: ability under high-pressure emergency situations to prioritize and respond efficiently.

5. Attention to detail: and a conscientious approach to documentation, safety, and hygiene protocols.

6. Physical stamina and resilience necessary for the demanding nature of emergency medical response work.

7. Teamwork: Teamwork and interpersonal skills to work cohesively with healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.

8. Honesty in Work is mandatory.

Technical Skills:

1. Emergency Interventions: Knowledge of emergency medical equipment usage such as Automated External Defibrillators, oxygen delivery systems, and splints.

2. Basic Life Support Skills: Proficiency in basic emergency medical care including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, bleeding control, and vital signs monitoring.

3. Ability to assess patients, stabilize them during transport, and provide immediate life-saving interventions based on evidence-based emergency protocols.

4. Hands-on skills in safely transferring and ambulating patients, infection control, and handling trauma, burns, and other emergencies common in healthcare settings.

5. Familiarity with patient assessment techniques including history taking, mental status examination, and focused physical exams.
