Job Summary

The Emergency Physician is responsible for providing immediate medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions. The role requires rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and coordination of emergency treatment in a high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prompt evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of emergency and trauma patients
• Perform life-saving procedures such as CPR, intubation, central line insertion, and emergency suturing
• Stabilize critically ill patients and arrange admissions or referrals as required
• Manage medical emergencies including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and trauma cases
• Coordinate with nursing staff, specialists, ambulance services, and ICU teams
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and emergency documentation
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and medico-legal requirements
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior doctors and emergency staff
• Participate in emergency drills, audits, and quality improvement activities
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans
