Employee Relations Coordinator

Position Overview

Pay range: $77,640 - $126,170 \ year

Job Description

In collaboration with HR professionals, Legal and others, conducts workplace investigations with an emphasis on HR matters, including employment policy violations, retaliation, harassment, and discrimination allegations. Ensures compliant documentation for employee relations matters and that polices, principles and practices are applied consistently and fairly. Meet with employees to investigate concerns, explain policies and procedures and present findings in a formal summary format.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with HR professionals, Legal and others, conducts workplace investigations with an emphasis on HR matters, including employment policy violations, retaliation, harassment, and discrimination allegations.

  • Ensures policies, principles and practices are applied consistently and fairly. Investigates employee concerns, explains policies and procedures, and presents findings in a formal summary format.

  • Promotes direct communication and positive rapport between UAB Medicine employees and supervisors, clarifying policies and procedures as necessary. Investigate concerns in a timely, thorough and accurate manner to mitigate risk to the organization.

  • Provides support and guidance to others regarding the development of investigative plans, effective interview techniques, note taking, documentation, recommendations and closure. Reviews escalated HR matters/documents to ensure thorough and accurate documentation with timely resolution and follow-up.

  • Ensures compliant, detailed, and accurate documentation for employee relations matters which includes ensuring organizational policies, principles and practices are applied consistently and fairly.

  • Maintains appropriate employee relations files and records, case management and tracking. Analyzes and tracks trends and proactively reports to Manager/Director.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Position requires Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field and five (5) years of related experience with HR investigations and formal documentation. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations Preferred

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification
