Employee Relations Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Employee Relations Specialist manages leaves of absence, accommodation requests, investigations, performance support, and manager coaching to protect the organization from risk while promoting fair, consistent, and constructive workplace practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Administer leaves of absence, ADA accommodations, and return-to-work processes with accurate tracking and compliant documentation.

? Conduct workplace investigations into complaints and policy violations; produce factual reports and recommended resolutions.

? Partner with managers on progressive performance management, disciplinary processes, and retention interventions.

? Develop manager-facing tools, templates, and training on difficult conversations, conduct, and policy application.

? Maintain up-to-date policy guidance and advise on disciplinary or termination decisions to mitigate risk.

? Support employee engagement interventions and conflict resolution that preserve trust and operational continuity.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred.

? 3 years’ experience in employee relations, leave administration, or HR compliance.

? Comfortable with investigations, documentation, and working with legal counsel when needed.

? Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and relevant local, state and federal employment law.
