Purpose of the Position – Energy Champion – Front of the House

The Energy Champion supports the Management Team in leading opening, closing, and overall shift operations. This role actively promotes La Popular's values and culture through professional leadership and positive influence.

You'll interact with all guests to provide warm, helpful, and efficient service while contributing to the overall restaurant experience. This is a hybrid role, requiring both supervisory responsibilities and regular server or bartender shifts.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Restaurant Operations:
Support restaurant success through guest engagement, high-quality food presentation, cleanliness, and operational excellence. Attend daily and weekly management meetings to contribute to improvements in sales, hiring, and team development.

Human Resources:
Coach and align team members, communicate job expectations, evaluate performance, and ensure compliance with company policies.

Financial Operations:
Help achieve restaurant goals through accurate forecasting, budgeting, tracking variances, and taking corrective actions when needed.

Cost Control:
Monitor portion sizes and product usage, reduce food and supply waste, and assist with inventory accuracy on a regular basis.

Compliance & Legal:
Maintain adherence to local and federal laws (as applicable in Mexico), including food safety, alcohol service, labor regulations, and lease requirements.

Safety & Sanitation:
Ensure a clean and safe environment by upholding sanitation procedures, legal standards, and emergency protocols. Follow and enforce opening and closing checklists.

Ambiance Control:
Curate the guest experience by managing music, lighting, table setup, indoor climate, and live music coordination when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Passionate ambassador of our values – EDC!
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Food Safety Manager certification
  • TIPs or equivalent alcohol service certification

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This role requires standing for long periods, bending, lifting supplies, repetitive hand/wrist motion, and working in a busy environment with exposure to hot/cold equipment. The work setting can be fast-paced, loud, and physically demanding. Occasional travel may be required for training or company events, sometimes on short notice. Training may be on-site, off-site, or virtual.
