Main responsibilities:

  • Identify areas for improvement, implement innovative solutions, and ensure the efficient use of resources.
  • Collect emissions and production data and generate reports to monitor performance against energy reduction targets.
  • Follow up and monitor the implementation of decarbonisation master plan initiatives in cooperation with JVs and HQ.
  • Assist sites with initial planning, design, and ongoing management of structured programmes aimed at reducing energy and CO₂ emissions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and implement energy-efficient solutions. Ensure the efficient use of resources while enhancing production processes and energy efficiency.
  • Act as the focal point for leading energy transition projects from pre-feasibility study to full-scale implementation. Notable projects include establishing the largest-scale PV plant at Abu Rudeis Field, recognised as the best decarbonisation initiative by the ministry. Additionally, drive studies and research for the integration of green hydrogen and CCS solutions across facilities.
  • Allocate and analyse full-life CO₂ modules (flaring, venting, fugitive methane) based on production profiles and HQ GHG allocation procedures.
  • Follow up with JVs on the status, studies, and implementation of Energy Assessment initiatives and identify possible improvements within the current plant configuration.
  • Work with HQ and JVs to resolve critical issues in digitisation and collect necessary data, ensuring implementation.
  • Analyse and calculate sustainability KPIs for all developed projects and create emission profiles for developing projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies for enhancing production efficiency and reducing energy consumption.
  • Monitor and evaluate production data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for process optimisation.
  • Lead feasibility studies for energy-saving projects, assessing technical and financial viability, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements and best practices in production optimisation and energy efficiency, incorporating relevant knowledge into projects and initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on energy-related matters, promoting a culture of energy conservation.
  • Comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Skills and experience required :

  • University degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience an energy efficiency engineering role.
  • Knowledge of carbon neutrality, zero emissions, energy transition technologies.
  • Experience with data analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, able to present ideas effectively to a range of stakeholders.
  • Professional working level of English.
