About Shade
Shade is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children with albinism and other vulnerabilities in Tanzania through education, advocacy, and outreach. We are seeking a mission-aligned, detail-savvy Part-Time Engagement Manager to join our growing team. This role will support and expand our mid-level donor program, manage fundraising campaigns, and assist in managing donor operations and events that drive impact and connection. The ideal candidate is both relational and organized—someone who finds joy in building partnerships, stewarding generosity, and ensuring the systems behind fundraising run smoothly. This role can be performed anywhere in the U.S. with preference for the East Coast.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign & Appeals Management
- Execute key fundraising campaigns, including Love In Action, summer campaign, capital campaigns as needed, and annual year-end fundraising campaign.
- Work with ED, DOE, and other team members to create messaging, content, gather stories and information, and manage the execution of campaigns, including:
- Coordinate timelines
- Segmenting donors for specific messaging
- Developing reports and mailing lists
- Managing all printing and mailing processes
- Logging and monitoring transactions to ensure accuracy
- Tracking and reporting on campaign progress
Donor Engagement & Stewardship
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward mid-level individual donors ($500–$5,000 range)
- Craft personalized outreach and updates to deepen donor relationships and increase fundraising
- Identify and qualify new donor prospects and opportunities for an increase in collaboration with the Director of Engagement and Executive Director
Event Planning & Execution
- Manage and execute all events, including house parties, donor events, galas, church events, conference planning, etc.
- Large event engagement to include CRM management, invitation processes, event vendors, committee support, etc.
- Support logistics, promotion, and stewardship to ensure high-quality donor experiences
Donor Operations
- Maintain accurate donor data in CRM and other software (Bloomerang, Charity Footprints, Qgiv, Monday.com, etc.)
- Generate reports, track donor activity, and manage gift acknowledgment processes
- Contribute to the development of systems and workflows that support donor engagement
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working within a faith-rooted organization and engaging church audiences
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang, QGiv, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.); tech-savvy and comfortable learning new tools and platforms
- Passion for Shade’s mission and a heart for global justice

- This is a remote position with occasional travel for events or meetings (as needed)
