Engineer Upholstery - Quality Assurance

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven Engineer – Upholstery – QA to ensure that all upholstery materials and finished products meet established quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in leather technology and a keen eye for identifying defects, process gaps, and quality improvements within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality inspections of leather, fabric, foam, and other upholstery materials.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to quality standards during cutting, stitching, assembly, and finishing processes.
  • Identify defects, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform in-process and final product inspections as per defined quality parameters.
  • Maintain quality documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Support internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in vendor quality evaluation (if applicable).

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of leather properties, upholstery materials, and quality control techniques.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to furniture or upholstery production.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify quality deviations.
  • Basic knowledge of quality tools (7 QC tools, root cause analysis, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelors in Leather Technology (Mandatory).
  • 0–6 years of experience in Quality Assurance within manufacturing or furniture industry.
  • Freshers with strong academic background may also apply.
