Job Summary:

The Engineering Design Manager will lead the design and development of new products, components, and systems from concept to production. This role involves managing a team of design engineers, ensuring that all designs meet functional requirements, quality standards, and customer expectations, while optimizing for cost and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Management
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of design and development engineers.
• Plan and allocate design resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
• Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for the team.
• Design & Development
• Oversee the creation of detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and design documentation.
• Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and safety requirements.
• Approve final designs before release to production.
• Technical Expertise
• Review and validate design calculations, tolerance analyses, and material selections.
• Drive the use of best practices in CAD modeling, simulation, and design verification.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA).
• Project Management
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to prototype to production.
• Develop and maintain design timelines, budgets, and progress reports.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders for design reviews and approvals.
• Continuous Improvement
• Implement design process improvements and standardization.
• Stay updated with new design tools, materials, and industry trends.
• Promote innovation and value engineering in all design activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Product Design / related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mechanical or product design, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, AutoCAD, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and design standards.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, sheet metal, or plastic molding.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in product development for automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or consumer goods industries.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) or Six Sigma is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹335,000.00 - ₹450,000.00 per year
