Engineering Firm Accountant

Equipalma is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Firm Accountant to join our finance team in Mesaieed. This role is responsible for managing financial operations within an engineering-focused environment, including project accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise along with experience supporting engineering, construction, or technical service projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities
• Track and monitor project costs, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses across engineering projects
• Prepare project-based financial reports, including budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Support billing processes, including progress billing and milestone-based invoicing
• Reconcile financial accounts and ensure accuracy in all financial records
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure financial alignment
• Monitor project profitability and provide financial insights to improve cost efficiency
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards (IFRS) and company financial policies
• Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and reports
• Assist in managing fixed assets, capital expenditures, and depreciation related to engineering operations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in accounting within engineering firms, construction companies, or project-based environments
• Strong understanding of project accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills for coordination with technical and financial teams

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in engineering, construction, or industrial sectors
• Familiarity with project management and billing systems
• Knowledge of IFRS and project-based accounting standards
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are an advantage
