As an Engineering Manager – Electrical Projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering, design, and execution of high-voltage (HV) electrical transmission projects.
Work Location: Abu Dhabi.

Lead and manage all engineering activities for substations (AIS/GIS), grid connections, switchgear systems, and HV/MV/LV power networks.

Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of engineering deliverables including SLDs, GA drawings, cable schedules and layouts, protection and control schemes, and earthing and lightning protection systems.

Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams (electrical, civil, protection, SCADA).

Coordinate closely with project management, procurement, construction teams, and clients to ensure engineering deliverables meet schedule, quality, and budget requirements.

Review and validate engineering designs in compliance with international standards and utility requirements (IEC, IEEE, NEC, NFPA, etc.)

Approve key technical studies and calculations such as load flow, short-circuit, grounding, relay coordination, overhead line design, and HV cable system design.

Ensure proper integration of protection, automation, and SCADA systems.

Liaise with utility authorities and regulatory bodies for design approvals and grid code compliance.

Provide engineering support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.

Review vendor technical submissions, FAT/SAT procedures, and as-built drawings.

Support tendering and procurement activities through technical evaluations of offers for major equipment such as switchgear and transformers.

Define, review, and manage suppliers’ and subcontractors’ scopes of work.

Review tender scopes and provide technical guidance to the estimation team.
We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory) and a Master's degree is an advantage.

10 to 15 years of experience in power systems, substations, and HV/MV/LV networks.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an engineering management or technical leadership role.

Strong experience with AIS/GIS substations (66 kV to 400 kV and above).

Solid knowledge of HV/MV cable systems, including underground and overhead networks.

Proven expertise in protection and control systems and SCADA.
-
Proficiency in ETAP, CYMGrid, and CYMCAP.

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and coordination skills.

PMP certification is an advantage.

Previous experience in the UAE or GCC is highly desirable.

Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and site teams effectively.

Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
