Position Overview

- The Engineering Technician - Electrical is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems, equipment, and installations within the property. This role ensures that all electrical infrastructure — including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and guest-facing equipment — functions seamlessly, supporting the resort’s operational excellence and delivering an exceptional guest experience in line with Rosewood’s philosophy of A Sense of Place®.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems, including power distribution panels, lighting systems, switchgear, transformers, and emergency power equipment.
- Monitor and maintain the proper functioning of electrical control systems, motors, pumps, HVAC units, and kitchen equipment.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, power outages, or malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and guest services.
- Assist in the testing, calibration, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and installations.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed safely and in accordance with local codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks on electrical installations, including grounding, circuit protection, and emergency lighting systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical safety procedures and ensure adherence to lockout/tagout practices when performing maintenance.
- Support periodic audits, inspections, and certifications of electrical systems to maintain compliance with legal and corporate requirements.
- Monitor energy consumption and assist in implementing energy-saving initiatives and sustainable practices.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and recommend solutions for cost-effective operations.
- Support the installation and maintenance of smart controls, energy-efficient lighting, and renewable energy systems where applicable
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, electrical inspections, equipment histories, and repair logs.
- Assist in the inventory management of electrical spare parts, tools, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Coordinate with the Chief Engineer, Engineering Supervisors, and other technicians to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a luxury hotel, resort, or large commercial facility.
- Sound knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a service-oriented attitude and commitment to quality.
