About Us

We are a UK-based company seeking a skilled and professional English-Turkish translator to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced linguists to contribute to meaningful projects and work with an international clientele in various industries.

Job Summary

We are looking for a fluent English-Turkish translator with proven experience in translating documents, content, and communications between English and Turkish. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, cultural awareness, and the ability to maintain accuracy while preserving the nuance and intent of the original content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate documents, websites, marketing materials, and technical content from English to Turkish and Turkish to English
  • Ensure translations are culturally appropriate, accurate, and maintain the tone and intent of source materials
  • Proofread and edit translated content for grammar, spelling, and consistency
  • Communicate with clients and project managers regarding translation requirements and timelines
  • Research industry-specific terminology and maintain consistent glossaries
  • Meet strict deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Collaborate with other team members on complex projects
  • Stay updated with current language trends and cultural developments

Work Arrangement

  • Remote Position: You will work remotely from Turkey
  • Working Hours: Flexible arrangement—can align with either UK business hours (GMT) or Turkish business hours (EET), depending on project requirements and mutual agreement
  • Time Zone Coordination: We are a UK company, but flexibility will be provided to accommodate Turkish working patterns where possible
  • Communication: Regular communication via email, video conferencing (Zoom), and messaging platforms

Required Qualifications

  • Native Turkish speaker with excellent command of English (or native English speaker with fluent Turkish)
  • Minimum 2+ years of professional translation experience between English and Turkish
  • Legal Authorization: Candidates must have legal authorization to work in Turkey
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency
  • Experience with translation software and CAT tools (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Smartcat)
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Professional approach to confidentiality and client relationships
  • Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field
  • Certification from recognized translation organizations (e.g., ITI, ATA, or Turkish equivalent)
  • Experience in technical, legal, medical, marketing, or financial translation
  • Familiarity with multiple industries and subject matter expertise
  • Experience with project management tools
  • Deep knowledge of Turkish and English cultural nuances and idioms
  • Portfolio or samples of previous translation work available
  • Experience working with international remote teams

Skills & Competencies

  • Language Proficiency: Native or fluent English and Turkish (both written and spoken)
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, translation software, Zoom, email platforms, and basic IT knowledge
  • Cultural Awareness: Understanding of cultural differences between UK and Turkish business practices and communication styles
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to resolve translation challenges and ambiguities
  • Communication: Clear communication with UK-based managers and international team members
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to quality assurance and consistency
  • Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently without constant supervision

Translation Output & Expectations

  • Complete approximately 2,000-5,000 words of translation per week (or as required by project)
  • Maintain a personal translation glossary and industry-specific terminology database
  • Participate in quality assurance reviews and feedback sessions
  • Provide regular progress updates to project managers
  • Comply with confidentiality agreements and professional standards
  • Deliver all work in agreed-upon formats and timelines
