Enrolled Agent (EA) – Tax Resolution & Tax Preparation (In-Office – 2–3 Days a Week)

Location: Houston, TX (In-person only)
Schedule: 2–3 Days per Week | Flexible Hours (9 AM–5 PM)
Pay Range: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Type: Part-Time | 1099 Contract

About the Position

We are a growing tax resolution firm based in Houston, Texas, proudly serving clients nationwide for over 12 years. We’re looking for an experienced Enrolled Agent (EA) to assist with both IRS representation and tax preparation work on a flexible, part-time schedule (2–3 days a week).

The ideal candidate has proven experience handling complex IRS cases, negotiating settlements, and preparing both individual and business tax returns.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Resolution Duties:

  • Represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities.
  • Prepare and submit Offers in Compromise (OICs), Installment Agreements, and Currently Not Collectible (CNC) requests.
  • File Collection Due Process (CDP) and Penalty Abatement appeals.
  • Communicate directly with IRS agents, Revenue Officers, and Appeals Officers.
  • Review and analyze IRS account transcripts for accuracy and resolution planning.
  • Prepare financial analyses (Form 433-A/B) to determine taxpayer eligibility.
  • Advise clients on compliance and long-term tax strategies.

Tax Preparation Duties:

  • Prepare and review individual (Form 1040) and business tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065).
  • Prepare amended returns (Form 1040-X) as needed.
  • Verify accuracy of income, deductions, and credits.
  • Assist clients with tax planning and year-end projections.
  • Maintain organized files and documentation for all client cases.

Qualifications

  • Active Enrolled Agent (EA) credential required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in tax resolution and tax preparation.
  • Strong working knowledge of IRS collections and appeals procedures.
  • Experience using Drake Tax Software preferred.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and financial statement review a plus.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and client-handling skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $25–$45/hour, depending on experience and performance.
