We are seeking an Enrolled Agent Tax Preparer with 1–3 years of experience to support our expanding tax services.

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and client-focused Enrolled Agent to prepare individual and small-business tax returns, assist with tax planning, and deliver an exceptional client experience. This role offers flexibility, with a blend of onsite work and remote-eligible tasks. Ideal for someone growing in their career and excited to work in a professional financial services setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual (1040) and small business tax returns (Schedule C, partnerships, or S-corps depending on experience).
  • Assist with tax planning strategies and respond to basic tax inquiries from clients.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IRS regulations.
  • Maintain organized documentation and manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Communicate with clients regarding missing information, tax status updates, and next steps.
  • Support advisors and internal teams during peak season with timely and accurate tax-related deliverables.
  • Stay current on tax law changes and compliance updates.

Qualification Requirements

Required:

  • Certified Tax Preparer OR Enrolled Agent (EA) designation
  • 1–3 years of tax preparation experience (public accounting, financial services, or independent practice).
  • Strong understanding of federal and basic state tax laws.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; resourceful, creative, and results-oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and adapt to changing technologies.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or AA Degree.
  • Experience in a financial or insurance environment.
  • Experience with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, Drake, ProSeries, etc.).

Work Schedule & Flexibility

  • Full-time or part-time options available
  • Some onsite work required, with flexibility for hybrid scheduling depending on workload and season
  • Additional hours may be required during peak tax season (January–April)

Pay: $16.00 - $35.00 per hour
