Job Summary:
Wavemark Consulting is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level IT Support Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or continue their career in the IT field and gain hands-on experience in a variety of IT functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for technology and a strong commitment to customer service. Typical workday is supporting customers remotely with some onsite support when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level contact and technical support for end-users experiencing hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in-person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical problems, including password resets, software installations, printer issues, and connectivity problems.
- Assist with Active Directory user account management, including creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts, and managing group memberships.
- Perform minor networking tasks, such as troubleshooting connectivity issues, and assisting with network equipment setup and configuration under supervision.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
- Assist with the setup and deployment of new hardware and software.
- Document, track, and monitor IT issues using a ticketing system to ensure timely resolution.
- Create and maintain IT documentation for common issues and solutions.
- Assist with general IT administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and IT best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A strong interest in information technology and a desire to learn.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is a plus.
- Exposure to Active Directory or other directory services is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Customer-focused attitude with a passion for providing excellent support.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are a plus but not required.
- Strong ability to communicate via phone and email with clients and an ability to stay calm and focused in those interactions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
