Job Summary:

Wavemark Consulting is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level IT Support Technician to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or continue their career in the IT field and gain hands-on experience in a variety of IT functions. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for technology and a strong commitment to customer service. Typical workday is supporting customers remotely with some onsite support when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level contact and technical support for end-users experiencing hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical problems, including password resets, software installations, printer issues, and connectivity problems.
  • Assist with Active Directory user account management, including creating, modifying, and disabling user accounts, and managing group memberships.
  • Perform minor networking tasks, such as troubleshooting connectivity issues, and assisting with network equipment setup and configuration under supervision.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Assist with the setup and deployment of new hardware and software.
  • Document, track, and monitor IT issues using a ticketing system to ensure timely resolution.
  • Create and maintain IT documentation for common issues and solutions.
  • Assist with general IT administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with senior IT staff to escalate and resolve complex issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and IT best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A strong interest in information technology and a desire to learn.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS), and software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is a plus.
  • Exposure to Active Directory or other directory services is an advantage.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Customer-focused attitude with a passion for providing excellent support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft certifications) are a plus but not required.
  • Strong ability to communicate via phone and email with clients and an ability to stay calm and focused in those interactions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
