Essential Functions: 
- Monitor drivers or equipment locations and coordinate service and schedules.
- Relay work orders and information to drivers, according to customer requests and specifications.
- Confer with customers or supervisors to address questions, problems or requests for service or equipment.
- Prepare daily work and run schedules.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of customer requests, work performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch-related information.
- Ability to track drivers and update boards effectively
- Advise drivers about traffic problems, such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions or other hazards.
- Ensure timely and efficient movement of freight, according to orders and schedules.
- Adhere to company’s policy and procedures and ensure that all work is carried out to preset service levels.
- Always maximize profitability on all shipments handled.
- Minimize maintenance and repair expenses, minimize per diem/demurrage and claims issues.
- Build close, strong relationships with all our customers, company drivers, owner operators and service providers.
- Contact vendors or claims adjustment departments to resolve shipment problems or contact service depots to arrange for repairs.
- Advise clients on transportation and payment methods.
- Provide exceptional service, communicate all opportunities and challenges with customers.
- Coordinate closely with customers and other departments to provide safe and efficient world class service.
- Maintain close relationships with the rail carriers to foster excellent service to our customers.
- Program time and effort to allow for adequate time for accomplishment of all administrative and computer tasks
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Requirements:
- High School diploma (or GED)
- Previous rail drayage dispatching or related transportation dispatching experience preferred but not required
- Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, i.e. telephone skills (multi-line, etiquette, friendliness).
- Must be able to multitask(answer phones and emails simultaneously), work efficiently and accurately. Respond to verbal and written instructions and follow up when responses are needed.
- Detailed oriented, work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines.
- Fast learner and self motivated
- Must have Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Must speak both English and Spanish proficiently

Pay: $21.00 per hour
