Environmental Engineer

Lahore, Pakistan

The Environmental Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with local and international environmental regulations, and promoting sustainable practices within the organization. The role focuses on environmental protection, waste management, pollution control, and sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Environmental Compliance & Monitoring
  • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, permits, and regulations (local and international).
  • Monitor air emissions, wastewater, solid waste, and hazardous material management.
  • Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections.
  • Sustainability & Resource Management
  • Develop and implement programs to reduce water, energy, and raw material consumption.
  • Promote recycling, waste reduction, and green initiatives.
  • Recommend process modifications to improve environmental performance.
  • Pollution Prevention & Control
  • Design, operate, and maintain pollution control systems such as scrubbers, wastewater treatment plants, and dust collectors.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Reporting & Documentation
  • Prepare periodic environmental performance reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain environmental permits, licenses, and compliance documentation.
  • Training & Awareness
  • Conduct environmental awareness training for employees and contractors.
  • Support the HSE team in promoting a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Project Support
  • Participate in new project planning to ensure environmental compliance from the design stage.
  • Conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) and risk analyses.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Certification: NEBOSH Environmental Certificate / ISO 14001 Auditor (preferred).
  • Experience: 3–5 years in an industrial environmental management role.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge of environmental laws, standards (ISO 14001), and best practices.
  • Familiarity with pollution control equipment and environmental monitoring tools.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time
