The role of the HSE Specialist is to monitor and coordinate the effective delivery and application of the Museum OSH-MS. Core functions include the continuous HSE monitoring of third-party contractors and internal museum operations/ Museum functions to realize the defined Museum OSH objectives, implement the OSH Manual, and maintain exceptional HSE standards in the interest of safety and health of all stakeholders. The HSE Specialist will support the HSE Unit Head on the execution of Museum HSE policies and procedures in all activities across all the departments in the museum.

HSE Setup Activities (Operational Readiness)

  • The HSE Specialist will be part of the Operational Readiness Team and will execute all the tasks assigned by the HSE Unit Head and Technical Operations Head, according with the Operational Readiness Plan’s Work Streams as: Construction Handover, Procurement and Contracting, Operations Management, CAFM implementation, etc. This includes all applicable setup activities required under HSE, to fulfill the objectives defined within the Operational Readiness Plan. The objective is to develop and design, an OSH-MS that suitable based on GAD risks, and plan for the systematic implementation thereof.


Operational HSE

  • Conduct HSE inspections and audits as per the HSE Monitoring and Performance Program.
  • Facilitate the Risk Assessment process, and verification of mitigation controls effectiveness.
  • Conduct accident, incident and near misses investigations supporting the HSE Unit Head.
  • Monitor the contractor management process to ensure adherence to the Museum's standards and Health and Safety requirements are complied with.
  • Monitor compliance with the PTW system for al hazardous activities defined within ADOSH.
  • Coordinate and facilitate OSH Training as per Museum Training Needs Analysis.
  • Play an active role in the development, implementation and testing of Emergency Preparedness and Response Plans.
  • Work closely with the HSE Service Provider in the setup, and implementation of the OSH-MS, including supporting the HSE Unit Head in performance management activities.
  • Play an active and leading role in the setup and management of the HSE Platform/CAFM.
  • Actively engage in a range of OSH topics, campaigns, awareness's sessions, and consultation workshops with all stakeholders to embedded OSH principles and promote safety and health.
  • Maintain the OSH-MS, to ensure relevance and compliance to applicable legal requirements and other requirements.
  • Play an active role in any corporate and external OSH Auditing requirements.
  • Be a vocal point in OSH Committee Meetings and Monthly OSH Contractor Meetings.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years hands-on OSH related experience
  • Exposure within industry sectors such as Construction, Facility Management and Hospitality.
  • UAE based exposure and experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Development and implementation of OSH-MS aligned to ISO 45001 and ADOSH-SF, including self and external auditing.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in risk management, incident management, emergency management, OSH monitoring, PTW and OSH training programs.
  • Usage of OSH Digital Platforms and CAFM to fulfill OSH outputs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or Engineering (Must)
  • International Diploma in Health and Safety NQF6 / NEBOSH (wish)
  • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
  • Root Cause Analysis and Investigation Techniques
