Responsibilities


As the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor for the Cranberry Plant, you’ll primarily be responsible for providing first-line supervision of the equipment maintenance staff who perform highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment. Incumbent must be familiar with advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, motors and controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and Custom Robotics. Responsibilities also include observation and assurance that all safety regulations as well as housekeeping procedures are followed in accordance with OSHA and VPP initiatives. Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for instruction and direction of Machine Maintenance Technicians in the Cranberry Plant. Ensures completed work conforms to specifications and standards. Resolves problems, provides day to day supervision and provides feedback to subordinates.
  • In coordination with HR, monitor certifications and job progression through the established program, ensuring that required education and skill are achieved and maintained. Meet with staff members on a monthly basis to ensure individual and department, as well as personal development goals are being met. Responsible for recruitment and training of staff.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance (PM) program, ensuring the PM tasks are completed on time, tasks are added for new equipment, and tasks are removed from the program when equipment is retired. Drive adoption of Total Predictive Maintenance principles within production areas.
  • Lead and promote use of, and ensure compliance to the MSA Operating System. Drive execution of Behavior Based Safety, Continuous Improvement and Customer Satisfaction initiatives. Work with supervisors, managers, engineers, and other staff members to support plant goals and objectives. Attend meetings to identify resource and equipment needs and constraints.
  • Assist in preparing equipment maintenance department budget and monitor spend against budget. Assist with CAPEX planning, allocate P-card spending and manage spare parts inventory and replenishment.
  • Maintain attendance records and approve timecards. May be responsible for completing reports and other departmental paperwork.
  • Ensure MSA policies and procedures are followed / ensure accountability for compliance.

  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional team/work group or those outside of formal line of authority to accomplish organizational goals.

This position is available at three different career levels based upon experience and education:


Education Required:

  • Levels I and II – associate’s degree in industrial maintenance, Engineering or other technical field
  • Level III – bachelor’s degree in industrial maintenance, Engineering or other technical field


Experience Required:

  • Level I - One year supervisory or leadership experience. Minimum three years equipment maintenance experience.
  • Level II - Two years supervisory or leadership experience. Minimum five years equipment maintenance experience.
  • Level III - Three years supervisory or leadership experience. Minimum seven years equipment maintenance experience.


Related military experience may be substituted for up to two years of supervisory and / or work experience.

Four years of proven supervisory or leadership experience in an industrial or military setting may be substituted for an associate’s degree.

Supervisory or leadership experience can include Group Leader experience.


Preferred:

  • Level I / II – bachelor’s degree in industrial maintenance, Engineering or another technical field
  • Level III – master’s or advanced degree / certification
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP)
  • Total Productive Maintenance Certification
