Job Purpose:
To assemble, fit, and erect structural steel, piping, equipment, and related components at site, ensuring compliance with drawings, safety standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and erection plans.
- Assemble and fit structural steel, piping, and equipment for installation.
- Align, level, and bolt components together using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Use lifting devices, cranes, and rigging tools to position heavy parts safely.
- Perform fitting, drilling, grinding, and minor adjustments to ensure accurate assembly.
- Inspect and verify alignment, tolerances, and dimensions before final tightening/welding.
- Ensure safe handling of tools, lifting tackles, and work at height equipment.
- Support welders and other trades during erection activities.
- Follow HSE procedures and report any unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and ensure housekeeping at the work site.
Qualifications & Experience:
- ITI/Diploma in Fitting/Mechanical or equivalent.
- Experience in structural/mechanical erection (oil & gas, construction, or industrial projects).
- Ability to read and understand fabrication and erection drawings.
- Skilled in use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of rigging, lifting, and safe work practices.
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights and confined spaces.
