RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Maintenance Activities and Troubleshooting
- Perform scheduled maintenance checks and routine servicing for escalators and elevators, ensuring optimal performance in accordance with specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in escalators and elevators, ensuring rapid resolution.
- Supervise repair works on damaged assets and ensure the use of proper tools and equipment during repairs.
- Perform corrective maintenance and quick-track resolutions to minimize downtime and ensure continuous asset performance.
- Assist in the rehabilitation of existing railway assets to extend service life and improve safety.
- Conduct tests, inspections, and installations as required to ensure proper functionality and system efficiency.
Technical Analysis and Optimization
- Conduct performance analysis and simulations to optimize system efficiency and functionality.
- Perform asset condition assessments and monitoring surveys, providing reports for condition-based maintenance and quality control.
- Identify root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions to restore system functionality.
Team Management and Collaboration
- Lead the escalator and elevator technician team, ensuring coordination with service providers and other engineering disciplines.
- Oversee team rosters, and shift management, and ensure adequate staffing to meet operational needs.
- Interface with operations and maintenance teams to facilitate and support their activities.
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to ensure effective coordination of maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with safety inspectors and regulatory authorities to conduct audits and ensure compliance with all regulations.
Emergency Response and Field Assessments
- Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations, ensuring swift and effective resolution of issues.
- Conduct field surveys and assessments to gather data for engineering studies or project planning.
- Support the implementation of new projects by providing valuable insights into the current infrastructure's condition.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for maintenance activities, inspections, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance actions, including failures, repairs, and corrective actions taken.
- Track all activities and report on asset conditions to recommend future maintenance or upgrades.
- Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and participate in incident investigations to continuously improve safety protocols.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental and safety rules, promptly alerting the Executive Maintenance team of any issues.
- Implement quality control measures and ensure that all maintenance work complies with safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to 5S and lean manufacturing standards for operational safety and efficiency.
Maximo
- Manage and oversee the operation of the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo) to track and report maintenance activities, ensuring data accuracy and up-to-date records.
- Validate and report inspection results, maintenance activities, and repairs performed, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
- Contribute to the development of maintenance budgets, ensuring that expenditures align with allocated resources.
- Perform asset condition surveys, analyze asset performance, and provide recommendations for corrective actions or improvements.
- Document maintenance activities, including design reports, specifications, and user manuals.
- Manage and ensure proper documentation for equipment failures, corrective actions, and scheduled maintenance.
- Ensure all work activities are closed in Maximo once the work has been completed (as per the defined company timescales).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge:
- In-depth technical knowledge of elevator and escalator systems and maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of safety principles related to escalator and elevator maintenance.
- Expertise in preventive maintenance and asset management systems (Maximo preferred).
- Familiarity with operational characteristics and service requirements of elevators and escalators.
- Experience in team management and coordination within a maintenance environment.
Experience:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and project management.
- Experience with change management processes and improving methods and quality.
- Previous experience with CMMS/BMS systems, specifically Maximo, is highly desirable.
