Role Overview:
The ESG Advisor is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives that support the institution’s strategic goals and align with global sustainability standards. This role focuses on driving ESG integration across business operations, products, and reporting processes, ensuring the company maintains its leadership position in responsible and sustainable finance.
The ESG Advisor will work cross-functionally to identify ESG risks and opportunities, support regulatory compliance, and communicate the company’s ESG performance to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
ESG Strategy & Framework Development

Develop and maintain the company’s ESG framework, policies, and procedures.

Align ESG strategy with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and international standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs).

Set measurable ESG goals and performance indicators in collaboration with executive leadership.
ESG Risk & Opportunity Assessment

Identify, assess, and monitor ESG risks and opportunities across the institution’s portfolio and operations.

Conduct impact assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.

Collaborate with risk management teams to integrate ESG factors into credit and investment decisions.
ESG Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and publish annual sustainability/ESG reports in line with global reporting frameworks.

Ensure compliance with Egyptian regulatory requirements and international ESG standards.

Monitor and report ESG performance metrics to the Board, regulators, and investors.
Stakeholder Engagement & Training

Engage with key stakeholders, including regulators, investors, partners, and clients, to communicate ESG commitments and initiatives.

Conduct awareness sessions and training programs for employees and management on ESG best practices.

Act as the ESG subject-matter expert, advising internal teams on sustainable product development and initiatives.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Benchmark ESG performance against industry peers and recommend improvements.

Research emerging trends, technologies, and regulations to keep the institution ahead of the curve.

Support the development of innovative, sustainable financial products and services.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or related field.

Studies in environmental science, or Sustainability, are a plus.

Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., GRI, CFA ESG Investing, SASB FSA Credential) are an added advantage.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate governance, or related fields.

Proven track record in ESG reporting, sustainability strategy development, or ESG risk management.

Experience in the financial sector (banking/NBFS) preferred.

Strong understanding of ESG frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, UN SDGs, PRI).

Excellent analytical skills to assess ESG risks, KPIs, and performance data.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to drive change and foster a culture of sustainability.

Project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.

Proficiency in MS Office and ESG data/reporting tools.
