Estimating Manager

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking an Estimating Manager to join our Transportation Sector. Under the overall guidance of the Program Controls Deputy Director, the Estimating Manager oversees the Program Estimating Unit as a key team member. Situated within the Project Controls Office, Program Planning and Control Branch, this role is highly interactive and requires the Estimating Manager to both lead and actively engage in all estimating activities.

  • Manage the cost estimating group in the development of all capital cost estimates for the client's project, from planning, conceptual level, to final design and construction cost estimates
  • Facilitate the development of information used to develop cost estimates with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Support the development of the bi-annual Programmatic Business Plan capital cost estimates, Program Baselines, and Project Update Reports
  • Develop Estimate Development Plans and Basis of Estimate reports as required
  • Support the review of contractor estimates and claims
  • Develop policies and procedures for programmatic cost estimating

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or Quantity Surveying
  • At least 20 years of estimating experience, including a minimum of 10 years in transit projects with typical project values exceeding $1 billion
  • In-depth knowledge of all design and construction disciplines, means, and methods applied to the client's program and transit infrastructure projects
  • Extensive expertise in the principles and practices of estimating
  • Strong technical and report writing skills, particularly in preparing cost estimates and Basis of Estimate documentation
  • Proven ability to develop and manage resources (internal and external) to produce accurate cost estimates in a schedule-driven program environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Science/Management, or Quantity
  • Surveying and at least 20+ years of estimating experience with a minimum of 10 years in transit work, with a typical project size over $10 Billion
  • Professional certification as a cost estimator and/or engineer
  • Management experience on large programs with a proven track record
  • Experience in database-driven estimating software (Timberline, Heavy Bid) as well as electronic quantity surveying systems
Salary Range: $145,500 to $270,500/yearly
Location: Sacramento, CA
Work Environment: Onsite
