Job Description – Estimation Specialist (Carpentry & Joinery, Fit outs)

Position Title: Estimation Specialist

We are looking for Experienced Estimation specialist for our carpentry and joinery factory here in Abu Dhabi, UAE. A candidate must be Skilled in preparing BOQs, material take-offs, and cost estimates for furniture, doors, wall panels, Joinery and fit-out projects. Proficient in AutoCAD and Excel, with strong knowledge of joinery materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Estimation & Costing Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for carpentry, joinery, and fit-out works including materials, labor, machinery, and subcontracting. Analyze material, labor, and time requirements to compute project costs. Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), rate analyses, and pricing sheets.Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with company objectives.

2. Tendering & ProposalsPrepare and submit technical and financial proposals within deadlines.Coordinate with design, production, and procurement teams for accurate data.Clarify queries with consultants, contractors, or clients regarding tenders. Follow up on submitted bids and participate in negotiations if required.

3. Market & Supplier CoordinationLiaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.Maintain an updated database of material prices, labor rates, and suppliers.Track market trends, new materials, and innovative solutions relevant to joinery.

4. Internal CoordinationWork closely with the design and production departments to align estimates with practical execution.Support project managers and site teams with cost breakdowns when projects are awarded. Provide cost-saving solutions and value engineering options.

5. Reporting & DocumentationMaintain proper records of tenders, estimates, and submitted quotations.Prepare regular reports on won/lost bids and reasons for outcomes.Assist management in budgeting and forecasting.

Key Competencies and Skills:

Minimum 3–5 years of estimation experience in carpentry, joinery, or interior fit-out industry. Strong knowledge of joinery materials, production processes, and installation methods. Strong analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills. Attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Technical understanding of carpentry & joinery works.Accuracy and attention to detail. Problem-solving and cost-control mindset. Time management and ability to work under pressure. Commercial awareness.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or related field.
