Estimation Engineer

Role: Senior Estimation Engineer

Experience required- Into Pressure Vessel, Piping and structural design is must and Oil, Gas, manufacturing exp is mandatory

Job Title: Estimation & Cost Engineering Lead – Fabrication

Role Overview
Responsible for leading end-to-end cost estimation, bid management, and commercial risk analysis for fabrication projects including structural steel, piping, maritime, and modular works. Acts as the senior technical authority during bids and supports strategic decision-making to secure profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Cost Engineering

  • Prepare accurate, detailed, and auditable cost estimates for fabrication projects.
  • Develop estimating strategies, cost models, norms, and productivity benchmarks.
  • Review/validate quantities, man-hours, and cost build-ups ensuring compliance with client requirements and standards.

Bid & Tender Management

  • Lead technical/commercial inputs during tender phases.
  • Conduct bid reviews, cost risk assessments, and value engineering.
  • Prepare clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions; support client negotiations.

Commercial & Risk Management

  • Identify and quantify risks related to scope, constructability, schedule, procurement, and logistics.
  • Develop contingency strategies and support margin/sensitivity analysis.
  • Utilize historical data to enhance estimate accuracy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, Materials, and Production for realistic pricing.
  • Align estimates with fabrication capacity, labor availability, and yard constraints.
  • Support smooth handover to project execution teams.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain estimating standards, templates, and procedures.
  • Ensure full documentation and audit readiness of estimates.
  • Lead post-project reviews; mentor and develop junior estimators.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years in estimation, cost engineering, or commercial roles within fabrication, EPC, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, productivity, and cost structures.
  • Proven experience in high-value bids and structured bid governance.
  • Proficiency in fabrication estimating tools, spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
