- Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor costs, and overhead expenses.
- Utilize estimation software and tools to perform accurate cost calculations i.e. Bluebeam or Primavera.
- Perform quantity takeoffs to determine the required quantities of materials, equipment, and labor for each project phase.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and market prices to ensure up-to-date cost estimates.
- Solicit quotes and bids from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors (Pre-Qualification of Vendor). Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier contracts to achieve cost savings.
- Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bids, and related documentation.
- Generate reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify cost variances and take corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Maintain a database of approved and qualified suppliers.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements with suppliers, ensuring terms and conditions are favourable to the organization.
- Ensure that contracts comply with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Analyze and compare supplier quotations to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop procurement budgets and cost estimates.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Generate reports on procurement activities for management and project teams.
- Generate Project Completion reports for Management and stakeholder.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Can work in night Shift 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM (US time zone)
- Proven 3-5 year's experience as an Estimation Engineer in the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, Primavera).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local and international procurement standards is a plus.
