Estimation Engineer - Electrical
The Role
To prepare accurate and competitive electrical cost estimates for civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities • Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents for civil construction projects. • Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates covering LV & MV systems, including: o Power distribution o Lighting systems o Earthing & lightning protection o ELV systems (Fire Alarm, Data, CCTV, Access Control, BMS) • Perform quantity take-offs and material take-offs from IFC and tender drawings. • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and architectural teams to ensure integrated cost estimates. • Analyze tender risks, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities. • Prepare cost comparison sheets, tender summaries, and pricing breakdowns. • Assist in bid clarification meetings and respond to client/consultant queries. • Ensure estimates comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, and international standards.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in electrical estimation for civil construction projects. • Proven experience in buildings, hospitals, commercial, residential, or infrastructure projects. • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods. • Experience with UAE projects is a must Technical Skills • Proficiency in estimation software and tools such as PlanSwift, CostX, Candy, or similar. • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and electrical drawings. • Advanced skills in MS Excel for cost analysis and reporting. • Familiarity with international standards and local UAE authority requirements.
