Estimation Manager (LV/MV Switchgear)

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Estimation Manager (LV/MV Switchgear) to lead our estimation and proposals team. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of switchgear systems, cost estimation, and bidding processes. This role involves preparing accurate technical and commercial proposals, coordinating with clients, and ensuring competitive and profitable quotations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of cost estimates, technical offers, and commercial proposals for LV/MV switchgear projects.
• Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to gather necessary inputs for accurate estimation.
• Evaluate material, labor, and subcontracting costs to prepare competitive bids.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, standards (IEC/IEEE/ANSI), and company guidelines.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms.
• Develop and maintain a database of costs, supplier contacts, and historical project data.
• Present estimation reports and risk analyses to management for approval.
• Monitor awarded projects for variance between estimated and actual costs, implementing corrective measures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the estimation team to enhance technical and commercial capabilities.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 6+ years of proven experience in estimation/tendering of LV/MV switchgear systems.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards for switchgear and related equipment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and costing tools.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and commercial skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Experience in vendor management and supplier evaluation.
