Support the company s business ethics and regulatory compliance functions and typically has regulatory responsibility for one or more areas within their field. Regulatory fields include, but are not limited to privacy, health care, environmental, transportation, and product compliance. Direct the business and provides guidance and training to associates and audits program execution. - Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or 5+ years of relevant experience, internal or external to Kroger
- Any experience with regulatory environment and laws related to their program
- Ability to handle multiple projects and respond to changing business priorities
- Strong follow-up, accountability, and attention to detail
DESIRED PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Any experience designing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
- Recognized certification in their area of responsibility
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Interpret laws and regulations to determine their potential impact on business programs; review enforcement activity in the industry and the potential impacts on the company
- Manage compliance programs that present a moderate risk to the company; draft policies and related documentation with some oversight; interact with manager and director level associates on the execution of the compliance program functions
- Audit and interpret results to identify significant issues of noncompliance and adjust practices and procedures to return to compliance as quickly as possible
- Maintain a robust communication channel with associates for relaying results and any potential non-compliance issues
- Ensure vendors are aware and meet compliance expectations and service level agreements
- Respond to regulatory compliance questions/ request on their program and from associates
- Follow up with all program inquiries and request in a timely manner and develop solutions that enable the successful operation of the business
- Create training documents and train associates to accomplish assigned compliance tasks; review audit reports on training records applicable to the business area
- Complete and submit correspondence, permit applications and compliance reports for the program; distribute information to associates and agencies as required
- Ensure a system to accurately file reports for programs is in place to meet compliance requirements and accommodate swift records and information retrieval
- Make process improvements and complete special projects as assigned by manager
- Travel to attend industry training programs to maintain expertise in current or future subject matter areas as approved by manager
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
