Evening Hotel Maintenance Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Staff member to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of building systems, mechanical equipment, and facilities infrastructure. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for all occupants. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC units, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as schematics and ohmmeters.
  • Maintain building interior including painting, carpentry, and general facilities upkeep to uphold safety standards and aesthetic quality.
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment repair issues, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical wiring, and electrical system failures.
  • Repair and service HVAC systems, ensuring proper operation through diagnostic testing and system adjustments.
  • Manage plumbing system maintenance and repairs, including leak detection and pipe repairs to prevent disruptions.
  • Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to track work orders, schedule preventive maintenance, and document completed tasks.
  • Supervise or assist with maintenance painting projects or other facilities-related tasks as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from building occupants or management.
  • Lead or support team efforts in maintaining facilities equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Getting trash throughout the facility several times a day

Requirements

  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, repair, or operations (MRO), with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical work, plumbing repairs, HVAC system troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance machinery safely and effectively.
  • Knowledge of building interior maintenance practices including carpentry and painting techniques (residential or commercial).
  • Experience supervising or leading maintenance teams is preferred but not mandatory; leadership skills are a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in English to effectively document work orders and collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and work with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks.
  • Knowledge of CMMS software for tracking maintenance activities is highly desirable.
  • Valid certifications in electrical work or HVAC repair are advantageous; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current with industry standards.
