Job Overview:

As a Maintenance Engineer you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. Your primary responsibility is to perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting, to maintain a safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance:

Conduct regular inspections of all hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing repairs, electrical work, carpentry, painting, and HVAC system maintenance.

Implement a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize breakdowns and equipment failures.

Repair and Troubleshooting:

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and staff.

Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions, including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and other mechanical systems.

Troubleshoot issues with building systems and identify potential problems before they escalate.

Safety and Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA standards.

Conduct regular safety inspections and address any hazards promptly.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.

Guest Satisfaction:

Interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner.

Resolve guest complaints and concerns related to maintenance issues in a timely and effective manner.

Contribute to a positive guest experience by ensuring a well-maintained and comfortable environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Relevant trade certifications or licenses (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) preferred.

Requirements:

Specific Job Knowledge - Skills:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must understand basic mechanical and electrical principals
Three years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

Physical Abilities:

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 150 pounds without assistance
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Requires manual ability to use, carry, and operate all necessary equipment
