Location: Stevenson, Maryland (Hybrid, with on-site work and travel required)
Compensation: Flexible based on experience.

We are seeking a highly creative, detail-oriented Event Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong design point of view, refined taste, and direct experience in weddings and events. The Event Designer will work closely with the Owner/Creative Director, as well as our design, planning and floral teams, to bring immersive, story-driven environments to life.

This is a collaborative, hands-on role for someone who understands both the artistry and logistics of event design.

About the Role

The Event Designer plays a key role in translating client vision into cohesive, elevated event environments. From initial concept through execution, this person will contribute to the full design process, ensuring each event feels intentional, layered, and visually compelling.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development & Creative Execution

• Collaborate with the Creative Director, event design, planning, and floral team to develop cohesive design concepts
• Contribute to mood boards, visual presentations, and overall creative direction
• Select linens, tabletop, furnishings, accessories, materials, and color palettes that align with the design vision
• Apply a strong understanding of color theory, composition, and spatial design

Layouts & Technical Design

• Create and refine event layouts and floorplans using CAD, Floorplanner, or similar tools
• Ensure layouts are both visually compelling and operationally sound
• Iterate on plans as venues, logistics, and design evolve

Production & Documentation

• Support Event Producers in building detailed decor documents
• Maintain accuracy across all design selections and specifications
• Collaborate with rental companies and vendors to source and execute design elements

Team Collaboration

• Attend key planning and design meetings to understand client needs and internal processes
• Work closely with planning and floral teams to ensure alignment across all event components
• Contribute creative ideas while remaining flexible and solutions-oriented

On-Site Execution

• Travel to and attend approximately 8–12 events per year
• Support on-site installation, styling, and final design execution
• Ensure the design vision is realized at the highest level

Qualifications

• 3–7+ years of experience in event design, wedding design, or a related field
• Background in interior design, event design, or a similar creative discipline, with direct event experience required
• Strong portfolio demonstrating a refined aesthetic, creative range, and storytelling ability
• Excellent understanding of current design trends, materials, and industry standards
• Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, CAD, Floorplanner, SketchUp, or similar
• Experience working with event design firms, rental companies, and production processes
• Knowledge of floral design is a plus
