About the Role

Oregon Business for Climate (OB4C) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and adaptable Events & Administration Associate to support the day-to-day operations of our growing organization.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating order, solving problems, and helping systems run smoothly behind the scenes. The Associate will support organizational operations across membership administration, database management, events, and internal coordination. Because we are a small, collaborative team, this position requires someone who can work independently, navigate ambiguity, and confidently move projects forward with limited direction.

The ideal candidate is also excited to contribute to mission-driven work and help support Oregon's business-led climate leadership community. The role works closely with organizational leadership and supports both affiliated organizations (c3 and c4) in alignment with applicable guidelines and organizational priorities.

Please note: While this is a remote position, regular attendance at meetings and events in the Portland metro area is required. Applicants should reside in the Portland metropolitan area.

Key ResponsibilitiesDatabase & Membership Administration

  • Maintain accurate records in the organization’s CRM/database system (Little Green Light or similar platform)
  • Track membership on-boarding, renewals, invoices, payments, and acknowledgments
  • Generate reports and support data tracking for membership engagement, business outreach and education, and organizational operations
  • Maintain organized and reliable internal data systems and documentation
  • Research potential new members and partners

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support to organizational leadership and team members
  • Maintain organized shared drives, files, and internal systems
  • Coordinate scheduling, meeting preparation, and internal documentation
  • Support organizational workflows and operational systems
  • Assist with bookkeeping coordination and invoice tracking

Event & Meeting Support

  • Assist with planning and logistics for meetings, webinars, and events
  • Support registration tracking, materials preparation, and event coordination
  • Help prepare presentations, signage, agendas, and supporting materials
  • Take and organize board or meeting minutes as needed

Website & Communications Support

  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional website updates and event postings in WordPress
  • Support administrative communications and organizational documentation
  • Ensure information shared publicly and internally is accurate, current, and organized

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with CRM/database systems such as Little Green Light (or similar platform)
  • Strong administrative or operations support experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Event planning or event coordination experience
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable functioning with little direction and moving work forward in ambiguous or evolving environments
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills
  • Clear and professional written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and general office systems

Highly Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience taking board meeting minutes or supporting nonprofit boards
  • Experience updating websites in WordPress
  • Proficiency with LinkedIn and relevant search features
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or financial tracking systems
  • Interest in climate, energy, sustainability, economic development, or public policy issues.
  • Alignment with OB4C's mission and enthusiasm for supporting business engagement on climate and clean energy solutions.

  • Organizational systems and records are accurate, organized, and reliable
  • Membership administration and database updates are completed consistently and on time
  • Events and meetings run smoothly because logistics are well coordinated
  • Team members can rely on strong administrative support and proactive follow-through and attention to detail
  • Projects continue moving forward even when direction or processes are still evolving

About Oregon Business for Climate

Oregon Business for Climate (OB4C) is a nonprofit coalition of businesses advancing practical, ambitious, equitable climate solutions in Oregon. We track climate policy, build business-backed strategies, and coordinate advocacy—making it simple and time-efficient for companies to lend their voice.

OB4C operates alongside its affiliated 501(c)(3) organization, Oregon for Climate Action, which supports education, outreach, and broader engagement efforts. This role will work with the support of both entities to accelerate relationship-building and amplify business perspectives.

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
