Position Overview

Northampton Country Club is seeking a service-focused Event Manager responsible for the execution and operational success of all club events and banquets. This role coordinates day-of event logistics, supervises event staff, ensures high service standards, and delivers seamless member and guest experiences. While this position provides occasional support to member dining, it is primarily an events operations role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Execution & Service
  • Lead the setup, service, and breakdown of all private events, member functions, golf outings, and banquets.
  • Review and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event timelines to ensure accuracy and readiness.
  • Conduct pre-event staff briefings to communicate service expectations and assignments.
  • Monitor service flow and make real-time adjustments to ensure event success.
  • Team Leadership & Training
  • Supervise and direct banquet staff during events.
  • Assist in training banquet staff in service standards and event procedures.
  • Coordination & Communication
  • Serve as the operational liaison between Culinary, Housekeeping, Bar, and Grounds teams for event logistics.
  • Ensure efficient service timing and coordination with the kitchen.
  • Event Standards & Presentation
  • Maintain event spaces, décor, and presentation to club standards.
  • Inspect linens, glassware, and service equipment before events.
  • Administrative Support
  • Complete post-event reporting and labor summaries.
  • Complete banquet scheduling.
  • Maintain banquet inventory such as linens, décor, and equipment.
  • Member Dining Support

Provide assistance in Member Dining during peak periods or special events.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in hospitality or event operations required.
  • Private club, hotel, or upscale catering experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
