Excavator Operator

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to join our project team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating various types of excavators for earthmoving, trenching, dredging, or material handling in construction or marine environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate excavators (wheeled or tracked) for digging, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling
• Perform pre-start and daily inspections of excavator including fluid levels, tracks/tyres, hydraulics, and attachments
• Excavate trenches for pipelines, cables, foundations, or drainage systems according to project specifications
• Load materials (soil, sand, gravel, rocks) onto trucks or barges as required
• Assist with dredging or shoreline excavation activities in marine or waterfront projects
• Maintain safe operating distances from workers, structures, and utilities
• Follow signals and instructions from site supervisors and spotters
• Perform routine maintenance including greasing, filter changes, and track tensioning
• Report mechanical issues or equipment damage to site supervisor immediately
• Ensure excavator is clean and secure after each shift
• Adhere to all site safety rules, including use of seatbelt and rollover protection
• Participate in daily toolbox talks and safety briefings
• Maintain operator logs and daily activity reports
