Executive / Assistant Manager – Indirect Tax
Reports To: Head - Taxation
Job Purpose:
To support the organization in managing indirect tax compliance, reporting, and documentation. The role involves assisting in GST filings, reconciliations, audits, and ensuring adherence to applicable indirect tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

GST Compliance:
-
Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.).

Assist in reconciliation of GST data with books of accounts and vendor/customer records.

Monitor e-invoicing and e-way bill generation and compliance.

Documentation & Record Keeping:

Maintain proper documentation for input tax credit, tax payments, and returns.

Ensure timely and accurate record keeping for audits and assessments.

Audit & Assessment Support:

Assist in handling GST audits and departmental queries.
-
Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants for data collation and responses.

Tax Updates & Implementation:

Stay updated with changes in indirect tax laws and notify relevant stakeholders.

Support implementation of new tax provisions and system updates

Coordination & Reporting:

Liaise with internal departments (Accounts, Procurement, Sales) for tax-related matters.

Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for indirect tax compliance and status.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.

2–6 years of experience in indirect taxation, preferably in a corporate or consulting environment.

Working knowledge of GST laws and compliance procedures.
Skills & Competencies:

Good understanding of indirect tax laws and GST framework.

Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
