Position Title: Executive Director

Reports To: Wyoming 211 Board of Directors

Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming

Employment Status: This is an At-Will Position

Salary and Benefits: Competitive salary range, $75,000-$85,000 dependent on experience, with dental insurance, supplemental wage benefit, and Simple IRA with employer matching up to 3%. Customary holidays and paid time off are provided.

ABOUT WYOMING 211

Wyoming 211, a nonprofit agency supported by state and local resources, is part of a nationwide network of call centers that provide information, and referral services to Wyoming residents. 211 is a free, confidential referral and information helpline and website that connects people from all communities and of all ages to the essential health and human services they need. Available information includes basic human services, physical and mental health resources, employment support services, educational opportunities, programs for children, youth and families, support for veterans, seniors and persons with disabilities, and support for community crisis and disaster recovery.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will be a mission-driven, collaborative, and innovative leader. The ED provides the overall leadership and vision of the organization, including sound financial and operational management, direction for program development, strategies and efficiencies, compliance with regulatory and legal obligations, and quality assurance. The Executive Director travels across Wyoming for about 25% percent of their time as the brand ambassador and champion of Wyoming 211.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Organization Mission and Strategy:  Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning, and community outreach.
• Responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and oversight of Wyoming 211’s programs.
• Serve as a passionate and compelling ambassador for 211.
• Establish, strengthen, and maintain relationships with key entities to strategically enhance Wyoming 211’s mission.
• Oversee the planning and coordination of events related to Wyoming 211’s grants, programs, and community outreach.
• Board Governance:  Responsible for leading Wyoming 211 in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
• Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board.
• Report to and work closely with the Board of Directors to seek their involvement in policy decisions and fundraising, and to increase the overall visibility of the organization.
• Oversee organization Board and committee meetings.
• Financial Performance and Viability:  Develop resources sufficient to ensure the financial health of the organization.
• Oversee fundraising and the development of other revenues necessary to support Wyoming 211’s mission.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Director to identify funding opportunities to ensure ongoing sustainability through fundraising and the development of other revenue streams.
• Responsible for the fiscal integrity of Wyoming 211
• Oversees the fiscal management of Wyoming 211.
• Oversees grant and contract management.
• Ensures completion of annual and monthly financial statement and audit reviews.
• Organization Operations:  Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization and ensure its overall successful long-term operations.
• Refine employment and administrative policies and procedures for all functions and the day-to-day operation of the nonprofit as needed.
• Retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing coaching, growth, and personal development for workers.
• Provide leadership, direction, and guidance for all 211 staff and manage the efforts of staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments.
• Maintain 211 policies and procedures.
• Ensure complete high-quality customer service based on agreed-to performance metrics.

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in social or human services field, or equivalent directly related experience.
• Management Experience: 3 years of management and supervisory experience with a focus on building culture of excellence and improving operational performance, and capacity building
• Experience and established results leading teams, engaging, and supporting governance boards and working with donors, funders, and volunteers.
• Lives in Wyoming or willing to relocate to Wyoming
• Ability to travel across Wyoming

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS

• Mid-range understanding of or experience working with health information technology, application and implementation of software.
• Experience researching, writing, and managing grant proposals
• Accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel) proficiency
• Call Center experience
• Current driver’s license
• Understanding of the Social Determinants of Health
• Lives in Wyoming, preferably Cheyenne, WY. Open to hybrid work for the right candidate.

Physical Dimensions

Position consists of sitting for extended periods of time at a desk, working on a computer, and answering the telephone or standing while conducting community presentations. Occasional stooping, lifting, walking, or carrying objects will occur. Some overnight travel required.
