What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a Full-Time Executive Director of Residential Care & Recovery Services to provide executive-level operational leadership and oversight for the Residential Care & Recovery Services Portfolio. This role is ideal for an experienced residential operations leader with strong knowledge of residential treatment operations, recovery residences, assisted living operations, DDA services, staffing coordination, compliance readiness, resident safety, occupancy management, and multi-program leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee day-to-day residential operations across assigned programs, homes, and entities
- Ensure program leaders meet staffing, supervision, documentation, occupancy, resident engagement, safety, and compliance expectations
- Implement operational directives issued by the COO and Enterprise Management Solutions LLC C-suite
- Coordinate communication between residential treatment programs, recovery residences, assisted living sites, DDA services, senior services, property management, safety services, maintenance, clinical leadership, and administrative support
- Identify operational problems and develop corrective action plans in coordination with the COO and compliance leadership
- Monitor residential workflows to ensure services, supervision, and facility routines are consistent and effective
- Assist in stabilizing, restructuring, launching, certifying, or expanding assigned residential programs
- Ensure each assigned residential service line has clear leadership, staffing plans, coverage systems, reporting lines, job duties, and escalation procedures
- Ensure residential programs maintain appropriate routines, house standards, supervision, and resident expectations
- Monitor resident experience, concerns, grievances, incidents, occupancy stability, admissions, discharges, and transitions
- Provide supervision and operational direction to assigned program directors, managers, house managers, residential supervisors, facility leaders, and operational staff
- Coordinate with clinical leadership where treatment services are involved
- Monitor census, occupancy, referrals, bed availability, service coordination, and resident transitions
- Support certification preparation, inspections, documentation, and corrective action plans
- Coordinate with property management, maintenance, and safety teams to resolve physical property concerns quickly
- Support compliance leadership in maintaining residential program compliance readiness
- Monitor compliance-related operational indicators including staff trainings, background checks, credentials, resident records, incident reports, house logs, supervision records, and inspection readiness
- Coordinate with the Property, Facilities & Asset Management Portfolio on maintenance issues, inspections, repairs, safety concerns, and facility readiness
- Work with finance leadership to monitor staffing costs, occupancy, census, utilization, budgets, supply costs, and operational expenses
- Monitor referrals, admissions, discharges, occupancy, bed availability, and waitlists
- Provide regular updates to the COO regarding residential operations, staffing, resident safety, compliance concerns, facility needs, occupancy, and program performance
- Monitor risks involving resident safety, staffing, facility conditions, compliance, documentation, billing, licensure, certification, property safety, and service delivery
- Support crisis response coordination, continuity planning, emergency staffing coverage, and operational recovery efforts
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 40 hours per week. Scheduling needs may vary based on residential program needs, staffing coverage, emergencies, inspections, audits, licensing requirements, resident safety issues, admissions, discharges, and urgent operational matters. Evening, weekend, holiday, or urgent operational availability may be required as necessary.

Education, Certifications, & Qualifications
- Master’s degree required in Healthcare Administration, Human Services Administration, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Public Health, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Behavioral Health Administration, Nursing Administration, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a closely related field
- Valid driver’s license required
- Proven leadership experience in residential care, behavioral health, recovery services, assisted living, DDA services, human services, healthcare operations, or a related regulated service environment
- Demonstrated experience managing program operations, staff accountability, resident-facing services, documentation standards, compliance workflows, audits, inspections, performance expectations, and service delivery systems
- Strong understanding of residential operations, staffing coverage, resident supervision, documentation readiness, regulatory expectations, inspection readiness, facility coordination, internal reporting, and performance monitoring
- Proven ability to lead multiple programs, homes, departments, or locations while maintaining compliance, quality, safety, accountability, and operational discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, leadership, and follow-through skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to work independently while remaining aligned with C-suite direction
- Ability to manage competing priorities, urgent deadlines, resident concerns, and complex operational issues
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive residential care, healthcare, behavioral health, recovery services, assisted living, DDA, senior services, or human services operations experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory, management, or program leadership experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with residential treatment, certified recovery residences, assisted living, DDA group homes, senior services, behavioral health residential programs, or related residential service programs preferred
- Experience with CARF, state licensing, recovery residence certification, Medicaid, payer audits, or similar regulatory/accreditation environments preferred
- Experience managing multi-site or multi-entity residential operations preferred
- Any applicable residential care, behavioral health, assisted living, DDA, healthcare, or administrative licensure maintained in good standing if required for assigned operational responsibilities
- Must maintain compliance with all organizational, regulatory, certification, training, and operational requirements applicable to assigned residential programs and service lines
Working Conditions
- Work may occur in administrative offices, residential program sites, assisted living homes, recovery residences, DDA homes, senior service locations, and other assigned locations
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, regulated residential service environment
- Must be able to manage urgent issues, competing priorities, resident concerns, staffing challenges, and sensitive information
- May require occasional evening, weekend, holiday, or urgent availability depending on operational needs
- Must be able to travel between assigned locations as required
- Must maintain professionalism when interacting with staff, residents, clients, families, regulators, vendors, referral partners, certifying bodies, auditors, and executive leadership
Physical Demands
- Ability to travel between residential program sites, assisted living homes, recovery residences, DDA homes, senior service locations, administrative offices, inspections, meetings, and other assigned operational locations as required
- Ability to respond to urgent residential operational matters, staffing issues, resident concerns, emergencies, inspections, audits, and facility-related situations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, operational demands, and sensitive situations in a fast-paced residential services environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, clients, families, regulators, vendors, referral partners, certifying bodies, auditors, and executive leadership
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or transport files, office materials, supplies, or operational equipment up to 25 pounds as needed
- Ability to work occasional evening, weekend, holiday, or urgent operational hours depending on residential program needs and operational demands
