About the Position

Your primary focus is editorial voice and strategy, planning, optimizing, and growing digital revenue and website traffic, overseeing branding and community, and leading a team of 3 full-time, remote employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Editorial, voice, & brand:

  • Maintain and ensure on-brand (personal, influencer-style) voice, messaging, and visual style across content, products, and platforms, including style guides and team coaching.
  • Work with the Founder on recipe content strategy and editorial calendar, including SEO-driven content updates, decay analysis, internal linking, and traffic analysis.
  • Strategic planning of content promotion across channels.
  • Integrate natural promotions of our food products, digital products, cookbooks, and affiliate products into content strategy across channels.
  • Create briefs for content and campaigns.
  • Write, oversee, and maintain content and marketing SOPs.

Campaign planning & management:

  • Ownership of digital marketing revenue, and website traffic from email and social media.
  • Quarterly (or monthly) planning of marketing campaigns across channels (email, social, etc) and integrated calendars.
  • Plan A/B tests and reader polls, report on them, and adjust strategy.
  • Create and manage campaign projects in project management system, including planning team tasks and ensuring on-time delivery.

Team leadership:

  • Manage the marketing & content team, including writer, social media manager, and marketing specialist.
  • Regular briefs, 1:1s, meetings, feedback, and priorities for the team.

Email & social media strategy:

  • Identify and plan strategies to grow our email list (email opt ins, lead magnets, placements, tripwires, ads).
  • Oversee email automation, segmentation, and sequences with testing.
  • Oversee social media performance including voice, engagement, clicks to our website, product sales, and follower growth.

Digital products & app:

  • Oversee creation, updates, and strategy for landing pages, digital carts, bump offers, and upsells.
  • Oversee digital product creation and strategy.
  • Growth strategy for digital products and app.

Monitoring, reporting, and growth:

  • Ensure that content production and promotion runs smoothly and on time.
  • Ensure that campaigns run smoothly, pivot based on live performance, and solve problems that arise.
  • Create reports on traffic performance individually and across channels, including strategic recommendations.
  • Create reports on multi-faceted campaign results and work with the founder to update strategy.

Cross-team alignment:

  • Coordinate with the Wholesome Yum Foods (products) marketing manager to integrate promoting our food products into email and social strategy.
  • Feed insights from customer service, reviews, and social into content, product, and marketing strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of marketing & editorial experience, with a minimum of 5+ years in content or editorial
  • 2+ years of managing digital content teams
  • Editorial & planning leadership: Experience with content calendar planning and oversight; editing both short- and long-form content and imagery for voice, style, clarity; familiarity with Wordpress blocks/Gutenberg; and SEO (on-page best practices, content decay, internal linking, search intent, content briefs).
  • Brand voice stewardship: Ability to edit and guide a team for a conversational, influencer-style, on-brand tone across channels.
  • Cross-channel promotions: Alignment of content, email, and social media to promote seasonal themes or launches, including project management, A/B testing, and messaging.
  • Analytics & data: Confident using analytics dashboards (email, web, social, spreadsheets), UTMs, spotting data patterns, creating reports, identifying key things to test, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Email & lifecycle ownership: Experience building and improving automations and campaigns using an advanced ESP (Kit, Klaviyo, or similar), including segmentation, tagging, A/B testing, and lead magnets (ConvertPro, OptIn Monster, or similar).
  • Funnels & conversion: Hands-on experience with landing pages (LeadPages, Elementor, or similar) and checkout systems (ThriveCart or similar), including tripwires, bumps, upsells and improving conversion rate, AOV, etc.
  • Social media: High level of understanding how social algorithms work, allowing for effective strategy oversight.
  • Design: Eye for design to oversee asset branding and familiar with Canva.
  • Home cooking: Preferably healthy recipes and clean ingredients.
  • Mindset & communication: Independent, data-driven, detail‑oriented, and proactive. Comfortable with constructive feedback, fast pivots, and asynchronous remote collaboration via Microsoft Teams/email. Strong conversational writing with impeccable grammar that captures the Wholesome Yum voice.
  • Remote readiness: Able to self‑manage workload, use and delegate in task management system (ClickUp, Asana, Trello, or similar), and consistently meet Monday–Friday 10 AM–3 PM CT core hours with reliable hardware & high‑speed internet.

HOURS

  • Full‑time: 40 hrs/week
  • Core hours: Monday–Friday, 10 AM–3 PM Central Time; remaining hours are flexible.
