About the Role:
We are seeking a high-caliber Executive Project Manager for a part-time contract position to spearhead enterprise-level initiatives within our School Solutions division. In this contract role, you will be the primary architect of project governance, ensuring that complex, multi-stakeholder engagements—spanning state and district levels—are delivered with precision, transparency, and strategic alignment.
As a bridge between executive vision and operational execution, you will integrate cross-functional teams, manage high-stakes public-sector review cycles, and safeguard the integrity of our curriculum and production timelines.
Zia Learning is an entirely remote company with offices based in downtown Chicago. Applicants can be anywhere within the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Governance: Serve as the central owner for enterprise-level project frameworks, aligning client vision with curriculum development, production, and compliance milestones. Ensures all contracted promises to clients are delivered on time and on budget with the highest possible quality and effectively manages client expectations.
- System Architecture: Design and implement robust project management systems and master plans that balance high-level strategic goals with day-to-day operational realities.
- Executive Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for executive stakeholders, delivering sophisticated reporting on project health, resource allocation, and progress. Establishes, builds, and maintains client relationships through face-to-face and electronic communications.
- Risk & Scope Management: Proactively identify potential bottlenecks, mitigate risks, and manage scope evolution to protect timeline integrity across large-scale engagements. Communicates effectively and in a timely manner both internally and externally. Maintains communication with all project team members and informs the team of issues that will impact development.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Synchronize teams across the organization to maximize production efficiency, foster continuous improvement, and ensure "user story" fidelity in final deliverables. Escalates issues of scope and quality to leadership team and client appropriately.
- Public-Sector Coordination: Lead submission and review readiness for state and district projects, managing documentation, pilot feedback loops, and milestone validation. Stays current
with trends, expectations, and standards of specific client marketplaces and can apply that knowledge to content development. - Acts as a positive, supportive leader of multiple teams simultaneously.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- PMP Certification (or equivalent experience and training) is required.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, enterprise-level projects; experience specifically within School Solutions or educational technology is highly preferred.
- Strong background in K-12 curriculum and the management of large-scale digital learning and education project management preferred.
- Familiarity with the unique review cycles, compliance requirements, and approval processes inherent in state and district-level contracts.
- Ability to build structured systems from the ground up while maintaining the flexibility to pivot as client needs evolve.
- Exceptional ability to translate complex project data into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership and external partners.

Additional Details:
- This is a part-time contract position.
- Starting salary: $5,500 to $6,500 per month
- Flexible schedule within regular business hours
