Experienced Associate Attorney

Atlanta, United States

Atlanta Family Law Group (AFLG) is a fast-growing, values‑driven firm representing high‑intent clients in complex divorces, custody, legitimation, and high‑asset matters. We’re obsessed with client experience, courtroom excellence, and measurable results—and we’re hiring an Experienced Family Law Associate to help us win the right way.

Why Join AFLG

· Serious cases, serious support. Handle sophisticated matters (children, businesses, retirement assets, alimony) with a dedicated paralegal/legal assistant, strong intake, and modern tools.

· Clarity + momentum. Clear goals, reasonable billable expectations, and weekly scorecards so you always know what “winning” looks like.

· Growth path. First‑chair opportunities, mentorship, business development coaching, and a path to lead/mentoring attorney for the right performer.

· Real client impact. We center empathy and advocacy—firm but fair—with communication standards that set clients at ease and keep cases moving.

Our Core Values (and how you’ll live them)

· Creativity — Craft strategies that fit the family and the facts: smart settlement frameworks, clean exhibits, persuasive visuals, and efficient motion practice.

· Winning — Pursue outcomes with discipline: tight pleadings, focused discovery, crisp hearing/trial work, and purposeful negotiating.

· Empathy — Explain options in plain English, set realistic expectations, and keep clients proactively informed (no dark gaps).

· Preparedness — Show up court‑ready: organized files, deadlines met, witnesses prepped, remedies preserved.

· Integrity — Practice with professionalism and candor—internally, with clients, and with the court.

What You’ll Do

· Own a litigation docket (contested/uncontested divorce, custody/visitation, child support, legitimation, TPOs, post‑judgment).

· Lead client strategy from intake to resolution: case plans, discovery, depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial.

· Draft and argue motions, briefs, and orders; prepare financial affidavits, equitable division analyses, and parenting plans.

· Collaborate with your team to maintain stellar client communication.

· Mentor junior team members when helpful; contribute to improving our SOPs and checklists.

· Uphold deadlines, ethics, and courtroom decorum; represent the firm’s reputation with pride.

What Success Looks Like Here

· Matter plans executed on schedule; no preventable deadline misses.

· Clients feel heard and informed; complaints are rare and resolved quickly.

· Smart settlements achieved where appropriate; confident, prepared litigation when not.

· Consistent quality work product; professional feedback from judges/mediators/opposing counsel.

· Meets/Exceeds clear production and client‑experience KPIs (shared in interview).

What You Bring

· Georgia Bar in good standing with 5+ years of focused family‑law litigation (more is welcome).

· First‑chair experience in hearings/mediations.

· Excellent writing and courtroom advocacy; strong financial acumen for support/equitable division.

· Organized, proactive communicator who partners well with paralegals and clients under pressure.

· Comfort with practice tech and curiosity to improve systems (templates, checklists, workflows).

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive salary plus transparent bonus plan tied to production, quality, and client satisfaction.

· Medical/Dental/Vision, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays; CLE/bar dues covered.

· Training & development budget (trial skills, financials, mediation).

· Hybrid flexibility with defined core hours; modern office resources.

· Real vacation: we plan coverage so you can actually take it.

How to Apply

Submit your resume, a short cover letter describing your best family‑law win (and why it mattered to the client), and one writing sample (brief or motion; redacted). Please include your earliest start date and compensation goals.
