Experienced IL Probate Attorney

We are a IL law firm with a robust and growing caseload of active probate and decedent matters.

This is a role for you if you like being the attorney, appearing in court, and leading clients through the probate experience.

We have a solid team of paralegal support in place to allow you to stay in the zone on cases.

This is a contract position: you will be paid for what you bill. There is no shortage of billable work here!

Minimum 20 hours billed each week.

What you’ll do

• Provide expert legal counsel on probate, trust administration, and related decedent matters.
• Draft clear and precise legal documents.
• Negotiate settlements in probate disputes and other related litigation matters.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop tailored legal solutions.
• Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on changes in probate law and related fields such as family law, environmental law, and personal injury law to provide informed advice.

Basic qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Illinois state bar membership.
• Proven ability to handle a large and robust load of active probate and decedent cases.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with landlord-tenant law, immigration law, securities law, workers' compensation law, patent law, tribal law & regulations.
• Strong writing skills with a focus on legal drafting and documentation.
• Experience in litigation with a successful track record of case management.
• Prior experience working in a law office setting with administrative responsibilities.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $65.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
