We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller who is confident working independently and ready to take ownership of assigned revenue cycle responsibilities.
Position OverviewThe Experienced Medical Biller (RCM2) is responsible for managing assigned billing workqueues, resolving claims efficiently, and ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement. This role is ideal for someone who has mastered core billing workflows and can work with minimal supervision.
You will be expected to demonstrate strong payer knowledge, consistent productivity, and sound judgment in resolving denials and accounts receivable.
Key ResponsibilitiesClaim Management & Payment PostingPrepare, review, and submit claims accurately and timely
Post and reconcile Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and insurance payments
Identify underpayments, incorrect adjustments, and discrepancies
Initiate appropriate follow-up on unpaid or partially paid claims
Denials & AppealsResearch and resolve routine claim denials and rejections
Submit corrected claims and formal appeals when necessary
Accurately document all follow-up actions in the billing system
Identify recurring payer trends and escalate systemic issues
Accounts Receivable ManagementManage assigned A/R workqueues to ensure timely follow-up
Prioritize claims based on aging, payer guidelines, and balances
Maintain clear and compliant documentation of all actions
Insurance & Patient SupportVerify eligibility and benefits as needed
Respond professionally to patient billing inquiries
Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
Compliance & QualityEnsure compliance with payer rules, federal/state regulations, and internal policies
Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
Support audits and reporting initiatives as requested
QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1–2 years of medical billing experience
Strong knowledge of insurance terminology and billing workflows
Ability to work independently with accuracy and accountability
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
PreferredDermatology billing experience
Experience with Modernizing Medicine (EMA)
Billing or coding certification (CPC, CPB, etc.)
