Experienced SAT/ACT tutor

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced SAT/ACT tutor to provide personalized and effective test preparation for high school students aiming to excel on college entrance exams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in standardized test strategies, curriculum development, and student engagement. This role involves delivering tailored instruction that enhances students’ skills in critical reading, mathematics, writing, and test-taking techniques, fostering confidence and academic success.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with standardized test requirements and individual student needs.
• Deliver engaging tutoring sessions both in-person and via online learning platforms, utilizing learning technology tools to enhance instruction.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly to improve performance.
• Provide comprehensive instruction in math, reading, writing, and test strategies specific to the SAT/ACT exams.
• Manage classroom dynamics effectively, maintaining a positive learning environment conducive to student growth.
• Incorporate curriculum development best practices to ensure comprehensive coverage of test content and skills.
• Utilize presentation skills to clearly explain complex concepts and facilitate student understanding.
• Track student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Stay updated on changes in standardized testing formats and incorporate relevant updates into tutoring sessions.

Skills

• Proven experience working with students in a tutoring or classroom setting, including classroom management skills.
• Strong knowledge of math, reading comprehension, writing skills, and test strategies for SAT/ACT exams.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools used for online tutoring and curriculum delivery.
• Ability to develop effective lesson plans tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.
• Experience with curriculum development for standardized tests or academic subjects.
• Background in adult education or special education is a plus, demonstrating adaptability across different learner groups.
• Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
• Strong writing skills for creating instructional materials, assessments, and feedback reports.
