Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in a dynamic early childhood education environment. As an essential member of our educational team, you will create engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that foster curiosity, social-emotional growth, and foundational skills in preschool-aged children. Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with state standards and best practices in early childhood education, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
  • Create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and encourages active participation from all students.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children's developmental progress through observations, standardized testing, and formative evaluations to tailor instruction effectively.
  • Facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate Montessori methods, hands-on activities, and age-appropriate teaching strategies for toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Manage classroom routines efficiently to ensure a safe, organized space conducive to learning and child welfare.
  • Collaborate with families through regular communication about their child's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
  • Support children with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and participating in early intervention programs when necessary.
  • Incorporate physical education activities and tutoring sessions to enhance motor skills and academic achievement across subjects such as math and literacy.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of attendance, progress reports, lesson plans, and incident reports in compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Stay current with developments in childhood development theories, classroom management techniques, and childcare best practices through ongoing professional development.

Skills

  • Proven experience developing curriculum tailored to early childhood development stages across preschool or daycare settings.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment that supports behavioral health and child welfare.
  • Expertise in teaching physical education, literacy education, math concepts, and incorporating Montessori or other specialized educational approaches.
  • Experience working with children with diverse needs including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Ability to plan lessons that integrate standardized testing results into instructional strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles with an emphasis on toddler care and preschool readiness skills.
  • Skilled in behavior management techniques that promote social-emotional growth and conflict resolution among young learners.
  • Familiarity with classroom experience involving private schools or daycare environments is preferred.
